Classes meet two night per week - Monday and Wednesday evenings or Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
As a dedicated student of the Martial Arts, we live by the principles of the black belt:
- MODESTY
- COURTESY
- INTEGRITY
- SELF-CONTROL
- PERSEVERANCE
and an
- INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
KEMPO KARATE is a combination art. It is composed of hard fist (Karate Do), soft fist (Ju-Jitsu) and weapons (Kobudo).
KEMPO KARATE teaches sparring and sparring drills to help the student learn basic movement and the application of punching and kicking combinations. This part of our curriculum would be classified as Karate Do (hard fist).
KEMPO KARATE teaches defenses which train the student to apply the ju-jitsu (soft fist) techniques combined with the hard fist techniques in practical self defense situations. Some examples of this are defense against grabs, pushes, punches, holds, kicks, and weapon defenses. Control techniques and takedowns are included along with proper rolling and falling techniques.
KEMPO KARATE teaches the use of weapons or "kobudo". Both the defense against and the use of weapons round out the students training to shodan (1st degree black belt).

STUDENT CREED
- As a student of Kempo-Karate, I will develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or physical health.
- I will develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and in others.
- I will use what I learn in class constructively and defensively to help myself and to help my fellow man and never to be abusive or offensive.
- We are a black belt school. We are motivated. We are dedicated. We are on a quest to be our best.
